We are based in Shikoku (Kagawa Prefecture) and regularly shoot across Shikoku elopement locations, Setouchi and Kyoto. Each location offers something distinct — Shikoku's hidden temple gardens and private countryside, Setouchi's calm inland-sea light, and Kyoto's ancient streets and bamboo groves. For Kyoto elopements, I also work as a member of the Nomad Weddings team — one of Japan's most trusted elopement companies. I handle Kyoto arrangements personally, so whether you choose Shikoku or Kyoto, you are working with the same dedicated person.

Shikoku elopement weddings offer something Kyoto and Tokyo simply cannot — genuine privacy, unhurried temple gardens, and locations free of tourist crowds. Kagawa's Ritsurin Garden, the coastal light of Setouchi, and the ancient valleys of Tokushima provide settings that feel completely personal. Our full-service Japan elopement packages include: dedicated local planner, wedding photography, videography, ceremony officiant, hair and makeup, kimono or western dress styling, venue sourcing, travel costs within the shooting area, and legal marriage coordination. Yes. Kimono photography is one of our most popular services. Our Japanese team provides authentic kimono and yukata styling, dressing and coordination as part of our Japan elopement packages. Japan is beautiful year-round. Cherry blossom season (late March–April) is the most sought-after for Kyoto and Shikoku elopements. Autumn (November–December) brings stunning red and gold foliage. Summer (June–August) offers lush green landscapes across Shikoku's mountains. We recommend booking at least 3–6 months in advance, and 6–12 months for cherry blossom dates.

Yes. Japan Serenity offers both legally binding marriages and symbolic elopement ceremonies in Japan. Many international couples choose a symbolic ceremony in Japan for the setting and experience, having completed their legal marriage at home before or after travelling. Both options include identical planning, photography, kimono styling and coordination. Contact us to discuss which option suits your situation best.

Yes. Foreigners can legally marry in Japan. The process requires an Affidavit of Single Status (or Certificate of No Impediment) from your home country's embassy in Japan, Japanese translation of documents, and submission at the local ward office.
